We purchased our land, lake and ponds in August 2011 and since that time we have sympathetically cleared the site to restore it back to its former glory.
We have stocked a large range of carp and silver fish; many carp in their doubles. Pictures of the fish will go on the website soon.
Our family run fishery is found opposite the Screech Owl fishing ponds just to the north of the Boat and Anchor Inn at Huntworth. We are close to junction 24 on the M5 and our fishery can be seen from the motorway if travelling southbound. Directions to the site can be found on the directions page.
In a beautiful mature natural setting you will have a choice of swims available to you including allocated swims for those fishing with disabilities. We will also offer family swims.
We are hoping to be in a position to offer hot drinks and snacks in time by applying for planning for a small building to have a kitchen on site. We will also have toilet facilities.
All monies generated by this fishery will be ploughed back into the site in order to keep creating a place for all to enjoy. Some of you may wonder why we would be doing this but this site is a culmination of dreams and hard work so we will do everything we can to make these ponds one of the best places to fish.
We have a large amount of small inconspicuous wildlife cameras on site to see just what species of wildlife we have on site. We have kept these in place whilst our clearance and works are taking place as we wish to monitor the return of birds, insects and animals that have not been seen for many years.
Whilst fishermen have fished these waters for many many years right up until we purchased the site we will, planning permission permitting be seeking to make additions to the land in order to maximise the benefit to all who come here.
We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank friends, family and members of other fishing clubs who have volunteered their time, help and often blood to help us achieve our dream.
Thank you also to those people who have stopped to offer a kind word of support for what we are trying to achieve especially during the times of frustration when others have done their best to stop us.
